ENRICO D. WEY

split his formative years equally in Arizona and in Taiwan. After a strenuous academic education in Taiwanese public schools, Enrico went to Sarah Lawrence College, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in 2004.

Upon graduation, Enrico traveled to South Africa and worked on “Tall Horse” with the Handspring Puppet Company making him the only American company member in the company’s 25 year history. “Tall Horse” toured internationally in 2005, stopping in parts of South Africa, the Theatre Der Welt Festival in Germany, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and the Kennedy Center.

Currently residing in New York City, Enrico has puppeteered for Michael Bodel at Here Arts Center, The Octopus Ensemble and for Repertorio Espanol’s Luces Di Bohemia. He is now dancing for Laura Manzella and Movement Research Artist-in-Residence, Milka Djordjevich.

He has collaborated with the lab on all projects thus far in one capacity or another.

At this moment, he is fascinated by ideas of “live animation” and is mildly obsessed with decomposition and static trapeze. He also likes cooking. A lot.

THE LIVING LABORATORY

is in a constant state of development.  The Lab is overly concerned with scientific phenomena and is invested in cultivating the cross sections between said phenomena with dance, film, and puppetry, but doesn’t necessarily feel the need to use all three simultaneously.

The Lab has presented works in progress at St. Ann’s Warehouse for the puppet lab in 2006 and 2007 as well as at the Chocolate Factory Theater in Long Island City as part of the 2006 FreshMeat Festival.

The Lab is young. It is trying to grow.
